Book three goes to my trusty editor on Thursday, but in the meantime, I've got a live preorder link and a blurb to share with you:
One month of fun with no feelings. That was the plan. After a run of bad luck, chemical engineer Penny Popplestone swears off men until she can figure out why they keep cheating on her. Which is—of course—when the superhumanly hot barista at her favorite coffee shop kisses her out of the blue. It seems too good to be true because it is: Caleb’s moving out of state in a month. Tired of always being “good little Penny,” she throws caution to the wind and embarks on a no-strings fling with the hottie barista. With nothing in common and only a few weeks to spend together, she figures it’ll be easy to avoid getting too attached. She figured wrong. Now, this fanfic-reading, plus-size heroine faces an unsolvable problem. What do you do when being apart is unbearable…but being together is impossible? Advanced Physical Chemistry is the third in a series of standalone rom-coms featuring geeky heroines who work in STEM fields. This steamy, feel-good love story will appeal to fans of contemporary romance favorites like Penny Reid, Sally Thorne, and Lucy Parker. On sale March 16, 2018. PREORDER NOW ON AMAZON: http://amzn.to/2EXYaZu And keep an eye out for the cover reveal, coming to a blog near you on February 16.

Good news! I finally have an official release date for the next book in my Chemistry Lessons series, Advanced Physical Chemistry: March 16.
I don't have a blurb yet, but I can tell you it will feature a plus-size chemical engineer heroine, a hottie barista who (spoiler alert!) falls in love with her, and cameos from some favorite characters from the first two books. The cover reveal won't be until be next month, but I just got the draft back from my designer and I love it so freaking much! I can't wait to show it to you. The heroine in Advanced Physical Chemistry doesn't swear, and I'm pretty sure this is the most I've ever had to stretch myself as a writer. I've gotten into the heads of superheroes, time travelers, geniuses, criminals, and historical figures in my writing with no problem. But a character who doesn't curse? That's the one who's turning out to be hard for me to relate to.
It is pretty fun coming up with non-swear alternatives, though. I may adopt some of them in real life and clean up my potty mouth a little. As I embark on my annual holiday baking extravaganza in preparation for the houseguests arriving at Casa Nix on Christmas Eve, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for being here.
This has been a big year for me. Not only did I fulfill a dream twenty years in the making by joining the ranks of published authors, but the response to my first two books has exceeded my wildest dreams. And I owe that in part to you. I'm so happy to have you on this journey with me. I hope your year has been everything you wished for, and if not, I hope the next brings you all the peace and happiness you deserve. I'll see you in 2018! KNOCK. KNOCK.
Who’s there? 99¢ sale! 99¢ sale who? INTERMEDIATE THERMODYNAMICS IS ON SALE FOR 99¢!!! Okay, that was terrible. I apologize. I got carried away. But come on! Only NINETY-NINE PENNIES will put an ebook copy of my enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy in your hot little hands. (Or maybe your hands are cold. I don't know your life.) At that price you can afford to play Santa and give copies to all your friends. Ho ho ho! What the heck are you waiting for? This sale only lasts through Monday. You don’t want to wind up with a case of FOMO do you? DO YOU??? I've spent most of the day locked in my writing cave working on Advanced Physical Chemistry, and I'm starting to get really excited about this book! Usually, I go through three distinct phases while writing a book:
We're officially back in excitement again, and that's cause for celebration! Woo hoo! I'm back in the writing saddle again working on Advanced Physical Chemistry after taking Thanksgiving week off to spend time with my houseguests.
I was feeling a little burned out on this story, so it was good to have a break from it. But now it's time to buckle down and finish this thing. I'm 55,000 words into the first draft, so I can almost taste the finish line from here. Who's excited to read about chemical engineer Penny and her mysterious barista beau? Intermediate Thermodynamics is out today! OMG!!! I'm so excited for everyone to read this book. It’s an enemies-to-lovers romance packed with feels, LOLs, and sexual tension. AND it stands alone if you haven’t read the first book in the “Chemistry Lessons” series (although fans of Remedial Rocket Science will be happy about some of the cameos that pop up). I think you’re going to love Esther. She’s smart, snarky, and flawed, with a big heart hidden underneath her prickly exterior. In keeping with the theme of women who work in STEM fields, she’s an aerospace engineer—that’s right, a literal rocket scientist. She’s also a knitter and horror movie aficionado. Oh, and she’s got a cat named Sally Ride. Naturally. And Jonathan...just wait until you meet Jonathan. Or should I say meet him again? Those who’ve read Remedial Rocket Science will recognize him as Melody’s insufferable screenwriter blind date. That’s right, that guy. I know what you’re thinking, and it’s exactly what Esther thinks about him, too...at first. But once you get to know him, I think you’re going to fall head over heels for the guy—just like Esther does. If you haven't read the first the book in the "Chemistry Lessons" series, now's your chance. To celebrate the release of book two, Remedial Rocket Science is absolutely free in the Kindle store starting today. But don't dawdle, because on Oct. 7 it goes back to full price. The reviews for Remedial Rocket Science have been amazing. Smart Bitches, Trashy Books gave it a B+, saying, "Although she has her moments of sadness and seriousness, Melody’s also a dorky, snarky character with a dry sense of humor (at one point, she makes a really judgey, deadpan assessment of a blind date who’s being That Guy™ that had me accidentally snorting my coffee)." Their conclusion? "If you like books like Attachments by Rainbow Rowell, you'll like this one."
And Bookgasms Book Blog had this to say: "One of my favorite things about book blogging is when I stumble upon a new (or new-to-me) author and immediately connect to their writing. That's what happened to me with Susannah Nix. I fell in love with the writing in this book even before I fell in love with the characters. It's smart and engaging." All the books in the "Chemistry Lessons" series can be read as standalones, and they all feature smart, geeky heroines who work in STEM fields. Some of readers' favorite characters from Remedial Rocket Science will be back for cameos in Intermediate Thermodynamics, so don't miss out on this great free book deal. Get your copy now while the getting's good! Are you a book reviewer or book blogger? Would you like to review an advanced copy of my second book, Intermediate Thermodynamics?
